Dog Training With Compassion and Communication

Training is not about bossing our dogs around. Training is about communication between human and dog. Dogs are not born into this world knowing what we want from them. It's up to us, the humans, to teach our loyal companions, what we expect from them using dog friendly methods. There is nothing that your puppy or dog does that is not normal or natural in the dog world....they jump, they dig, they bark, some bite, some don't like other dogs, some don't like other humans. There is a reason for the behaviors your dog displays. That's what training is for.

If your dog is behaving aggressively, I can help you to find resolve and improve your dog's behavior. A dog behaving aggressively is not any happier than you witnessing it. Aggression stems from a number of different things: Fear, anxiety, lack of socialization, pain, just to mention a few. It takes time and patience to help a dog overcome emotional turmoil/stress.

Dogs' loyalty, companionship and unconditional love is given with little expectation in return. We owe them the courtesy to help them if they are suffering.

I also teach a Reactive Dog Class for aggressive and reactive dogs. I screen potential students for this class as there are different situations/reasons in which dogs react negatively. This class is specific to your dog being out in the public while on a leash. The class does not address any in home aggression or off leash behaviors.

I offer private lessons. These lessons are done at your house. Private lessons address issues including dog/dog aggression, dog/human aggression, digging, barking, and other behavioral issues. If you're looking for basic obedience, I can help with that as well.

Rate for private lesson: $140.00 for initial consult (this consult includes discussion as well as training). Mileage fee is 50 cents per mile. This lesson generally lasts approx 1.5 – 2 hours.

Follow-up lessons are $80.00 per hour
